Notre Dame Press Celebrates Two Team MembersNotre Dame Press Celebrates Two Team Members

The University of Notre Dame Press is excited to welcome Laura Moran Walton and to celebrate the promotion of Stephanie Marchman.

Laura Moran Walton joined the Press team as Marketing and Publicity Manager on June 20th. Moran Walton started her career in academic publishing at Iowa State University Press and the University of Notre Dame Press before transitioning to broader academic and nonprofit marketing and communications work within the South Bend region.

She most recently served as the Vice President of Communication and Public Relations at the Community Foundation of St. Joseph Country and now brings her extensive marketing and publicity expertise back home to Notre Dame Press. “After twenty-five years of building my marketing and communication skills,” Moran Walton said, “I’m thrilled to be returning to Notre Dame and the world of academic publishing—particularly as a member of such a dedicated and expert team.”

“Laura Moran Walton is an exceptional advocate for and promoter of the arts and of our local community with an abiding passion for the work of university presses,” said Michelle Sybert, Assistant Director of Notre Dame Press. “We are delighted to welcome her back to the Notre Dame family and look forward to working with her to expand awareness of the impact of the Press and of our books and authors.”

Stephanie Marchman has been promoted to Exhibits and Digital Marketing Manager. She joined Notre Dame Press in 2019 as the Marketing and Sales Specialist after holding positions in marketing at Baylor University Press. Over the past four years, Marchman revitalized the exhibits program, including pioneering expansive virtual conference exhibits during the pandemic, and expanded the Press’s digital marketing and outreach.

“In her time at Notre Dame Press, Stephanie Marchman has innovated our exhibits program, honed our digital marketing efforts, and implemented new methods to measure the impact of her work, while always watching for opportunities to support her colleagues,” said Sybert. “We are very excited to see how she builds on these successes in her new role.”
