Notre Dame Press Celebrates Two Team Members

Author: Notre Dame Press News

The University of Notre Dame Press is proud to celebrate two of our team members: Kathryn Pitts and Rachel Kindler.

It is with both joy and sorrow that we announce the retirement of Kathryn Pitts, Marketing and Publicity Director, on March 16th. For nearly three decades, Kathryn has led marketing and publicity campaigns for more than a thousand Notre Dame Press books and authors, which have included national and international media attention in The Guardian, The Ezra Klein Show, Los Angeles Review of Books, The New York Review of Books, Newsweek, and the Times Literary Supplement, among other outlets.

“Kathryn is a pillar of the Notre Dame Press leadership team,” said Assistant Director Michelle Sybert, “She is a talented and dedicated marketeer who has expanded the Press’s reputation on campus, grown our media hits year over year, and provided exceptional support to our authors.” In addition to her work within the Press, Kathryn served on the AUPresses Marketing Committee, as the AUPresses Marketing Committee Chair in 2020, and on the Notre Dame Thrive communications committee, a group focused on increasing opportunities for women to advance as leaders on campus. We wish her the best as she moves on to new endeavors.

Additionally, Rachel Kindler has been promoted to Associate Acquisitions Editor. Rachel joined Notre Dame Press in 2019 as the assistant acquisitions editor after holding positions in EDP at Indiana University Press. In her new role, she will acquire books in American history, Latin American studies, and Notre Dame and regional interest “Rachel has worked her way up through the ranks in the acquisitions department, and she has established herself as a vital member of the UNDP team. I am very excited to see the critical and commercial successes that her list of titles will generate for the Press,” said Director Stephen Wrinn.
