The University of Notre Dame Press is delighted to present its Spring 2022 Catalog of forthcoming titles. With works ranging from philosophy and theology to national security and Latin American history, this collection will inspire and engage readers in a variety of subjects.

Some highlights include:

Future Peace: Technology, Aggression, and the Rush to War, by Major General (Ret.) Robert H. Latiff, urges extreme caution in the adoption of new weapons technology and is an impassioned plea for peace from an individual who spent decades preparing for war.

Justus Doenecke’s monumental study More Precious than Peace: A New History of America in World War I covers diplomatic, military, and ideological aspects of U.S. involvement as a full-scale participant in World War I.

Who Are My People? by Emmanuel Katongole, the newest book in the Contending Modernities series, explores the complex relationship between identity, violence, and Christianity in Africa.

The History and Culture of Iran and Central Asia, edited by D. G. Tor and Minoru Inaba, examines the major cultural, religious, political, and urban changes that took place in the Iranian world of Inner and Central Asia in the transition from the pre-Islamic to the Islamic periods.

Two new books in the Conway Lectures in Medieval Studies series include The Etiquette of Early Northern Verse by Roberta Frank and Visual Translation: Illuminated Manuscripts and the First French Humanists by Anne D. Hedeman.

Dante’s “Other Works,” edited by Zygmunt G. Baranski, and Theodore J. Cachey, Jr., is a new volume in the William and Katherine Devers Series in Dante and Medieval Italian Literature.

Rémi Brague’s Curing Mad Truths: Medieval Wisdom for the Modern Age, part of the Catholic Ideas for a Secular World series, will be released in paperback.
