The University of Notre Dame Press is accepting applications for Senior Acquisitions Editor. The Press seeks an innovative and experienced editor to acquire and develop 20–25 new scholarly and trade book projects each year in the areas of theology, philosophy, and religious studies. Here is the position description.
In addition to the new position, two of our staff members have received title changes:
Michelle Sybert has been promoted to Assistant Director/Marketing, Sales, and Development. She graduated from Indiana University with a Bachelor of Arts degree. She joined Notre Dame Press in 2019 after working for Indiana University Press during her undergraduate years as an intern and later as assistant project coordinator, project manager/editor, marketing manager and marketing designer, and trade marketing and publicity manager. As part of her new role at Notre Dame Press, Michelle will assist Director Steve Wrinn in expanding the presence and reception of the Press on campus and throughout the Notre Dame community, in crafting cohesive, data-driven strategies that ensure the long-term success of the Press, and in coordinating projects and processes that span multiple departments. In addition, she will lead the marketing and sales team to help streamline decision-making and ensure unified strategies.
David Juarez is now Assistant Production Editor. He graduated from the University of Texas, Austin, with a Bachelor of Arts degree and a Master of Arts degree in American studies. He joined Notre Dame Press in 2018 as an editorial assistant after his tenure at University of Texas Press as a publishing fellow. In his new position, he takes on increased responsibility for copyediting projects; checking proofs and indexes; and managing proofreaders and student workers.
